General Information About Udaipur

This lofty palace is situated over a tranquil lake Pichola. It is simply amusing to know and see that different Maharanas between the time of 16th and 20th century construct it but it cannot be guessed seeing the uniformity in its design.
A part of this palace has now been transformed into museums and heritage hotels. The museums has so much to see like the Mor Chowk which has splendid peacock mosaics in blue color and glass & ceramic figures in the Ruby Mahal etc.
City palace is constructed on hilly terrain, so one really gets amused to se beautiful trees on its fourth floor.
Visitors require paying Rs 50 for entry into City Palace museums and Rs 500 for Crystal Gallery and Durbar Hall.
Jagdish Mandir (Temple)
It is the 17th century temple with massive idol of Lord Vishnu made from black stone. Outside the temple there are many stalls selling handicrafts.
This lake is the hallmark of the city also known as “The City of Lakes”. Boating in the lake especially at the time of sunset is really a unique experience. There are two islands in the lake namely Jag Niwas (one of the great hotels around the world) and another is Jag Mandir which have converted into high class party avenues.
