The five day Rajasthan tour takes you to explore some of the most exciting places in Rajasthan including Jaipur, Agra, and Ranthambore. The tour begins from Delhi where you will be taken to see Mughal era monuments, Lutyen’s Delhi, India Gate and Delhi haat. Next day proceed to Agra to view the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, home to some stunning monuments made of red sand stone. The next destination is Ranthambore national park with a thriving tiger population living in an exotic landscape and encompassed by the majestic fort. Apart from the tiger, you can spot other wildlife and a rich array of birds. You will then visit the pink city of Jaipur to see its stunning architectural marvels and shop to your heart’s content in its colourful markets brimming with clothes, handicrafts and jewellery and not to forget that the food in the city is legendary.
Day – 1 (New Delhi – Agra [206 kms/ 3.5 hours drive])
After early breakfast drive to Agra. Upon arrival, check in hotel. Later visit the world famous Taj Mahal at sunset followed by short drive in the historic city. Agra attained its magnificence under the Emperor Akbar the Great. Once the capital of Mughal India in the 16th and 17th century, it depicts a gorgeous panorama of majestic architectural creations and rich tradition of art and culture.
Agra houses one of Seven Wonders of the World, the marble symphony of Emperor Shah Jahan – “The Taj Mahal”. Discover the dazzling creations of their craftsmen in other architectural marvels in Agra, the quintessential Mughal CIty. The Taj Mahal is a tear on the face of eternity – as described by the famous Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore and symbolizes eternal love frozen in white marble. Emperor Shah Jahan constructed this famous Mughal Monument (closed on Fridays) in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Day – 2 (Agra- Ranthambore [240 kms/ 4.5 hours drive])
Morning after breakfast check out and visit Agra Fort. Later drive to Ranthambore National Park. On arrival at Ranthambore, you will be met by our representative, and assisted with check in formalities to the jungle resort.
The Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. It covers an area of over 400 sq km with many steep crags embracing a network of lakes and rivers. Atop one of these hills, the 10th century Ranthambore Fort stands like a silent sentinel. The terrain is a blend of impregnable forests and open bush land. The forest is the typically dry deciduous type with dhok being the most prominent tree. Ranthambore is best known for its tiger population, and tiger sightings are common here. Apart from tigers, the park has its share of panthers, too. Kachida Valley is believed to be the place to sight these rather elusive cats. One can also find marsh crocodiles, hyenas, jungle cats and sloth bears apart from Chital, Nilgai, and Chinkara. The avian population comprises of black storks, quails, Bonelli’s eagles, spur fowls, crested serpent eagles and painted storks. During the winter months, the park attracts a lot of migratory birds, including a variety of ducks. It is the ideal park for wildlife photography.
Day – 3 (Ranthambore)
The day starts early with a morning game safari into the Ranthambore National Park. Safaris in Ranthambore are conducted using Jeeps. Resident Naturalists are also at hand, to enhance your safari experience. Return to resort for breakfast. Spend rest of the morning relaxing at the hotel. Later in the afternoon, you will be picked up again from your resort for an afternoon game safari into the Ranthambore National Park. Overnight in a Jungle Resort
Day – 4 (Ranthambore- Jaipur [150 kms/ 3 hours drive])
Morning after breakfast drive to Jaipur. It is the capital of Rajasthan, and known as the “Pink City” because of the pink colored buildings in its old city. It is situated on a dry lakebed in a somewhat arid landscape, surrounded by barren hills surmounted by forts and crenellated walls. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, who was careful to cultivate good favour with the ruling Mughals, he laid out the city with rectangular blocks according to ancient Hindu architecture. On arrival check in to your pre-booked hotel
Day – 5 (Jaipur city tour)
Morning proceed for an excursion to Amber fort. Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani fort Palace. A major attraction at Amber is the elephant ride all the way up to the fort entrance. Afternoon proceed for a guided tour of Jaipur city visiting the Maharaja’s City Palace & the Jantar Mantar, which is the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day – 5 (Jaipur- New Delhi [255 kms/ 5 hours drive])
Morning after leisurely breakfast drive back to New Delhi. . [Apparently there is direct flight available to Mumbai, New Delhi, Goa and many other tourist cities Ex Jaipur]
