The 14 day tour takes you to explore the magical kingdom of Ladakh while also passing through some of the most mesmerizing places in Himachal Pradesh en-route the journey to Leh, including Manali, Rohtang Pass and Keylong Valley. In Ladakh, visit the incredibly beautiful lakes of Moriri and Pangong; Nubra valley with its double-hump camels and Diskit Monastery, while passing through Khardungla, the highest motorable road in the world; and the awe-inspiring monasteries of Hemis, Thiksey and Leh casting a magical charm on the serene surroundings. You will also be taken to visit Kargil, the place immortalized in Indian history, as being the ground for the recent battle between India and Pakistan. From there you will proceed to Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, while passing through some of the most mesmerizing landscapes you have ever seen.
Day – 1 (Chandigarh – Manali)
Reach Chandigarh early morning. Take Car to Manali. Transfer check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day – 2 (Manali – Rohtang Pass – Keylong – Jispa – Baralachla Pass – Sarchu)
Start for Jispa / Keylong / Sarchu which is where you would need to halt at night before starting the next day for Leh. Jispa is the midpoint distance between Leh and Manali. Enroute crossing over Rohtang Pass (3980 Mts. ASL) via Koksar (stop for Passport check) Sisu falls at Keylong, the district HQs of Keylong Valley. Drive over Baralachla-la (4892 Mts. ASL). Overnight at Jispa / Keylong / Sarchu.
Day – 3 (Sarchu –Tsokar –Tsomoriri)
After break fast drive towards leh and before entire in Tsomoriri Lake changed your vehicle in Tsokar and their Leh taxi pickup you drive to Tsomoriri Lake.
Day – 4 (Tsomoriri – Leh)
After break fast sight seen around lake and drive to Leh enroute visit sumdo , Chumathang hot Spring, Mhay and reach late evening in the Leh.
Day – 5 (Local Leh Visit)
After breakfast, proceed to visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. This large hilltop stupa has brightly colored reliefs on its mid-levels and is topped by a spired white hemisphere (smoking is prohibited here). Visit the eye-catching Sankar Gompa monastery. Lastly visit Leh Palace, dilapidated yet interesting, which was built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture.
Overnight at Leh.
Day 6Leh – Pangong Lake (150 kms.)
Early departure for Pangong Lake (approx. 145 kms, located on the Indo China Border), via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft). After full day of sightseeing around the Lake check-in at fixed tented camp near the lake at Spangmik or drive back for 30 kms to Tangtse and check into Hotel / Guest House for overnight stay.
Day – 7 (Pangong-Hemis / Thiksey-Leh (165 kms.))
After breakfast, leave Pangong / Tangtse and retrace the Leh route across Chang-la. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit the famous Hemis Monastery, biggest monastery of Ladakh. Later drive on to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Overnight in hotel.
Day – 8 (Leh-Khardongla- Nubra Valley (125 kms.))
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area and Samstaling Gompa. Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Deskit / Hundar for overnight in a fixed camp or hotel.
Day – 9 (Nubra Valley- Khardongla-Leh (125 kms.))
In the morning visit / explore Deskit , Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Day – 10 (Buffer Day)
Optional. In case a rest is required. No transportation
Overnight at Leh.
Day – 11 (Leh-Alchi / Uleytokpo: (70 kms.))
After leisurely breakfast drive down the Indus Valley on the first leg of your journey to Kargil & Srinagar. On the way, visit Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point, Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers) and then the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex famous for its wall frescoes and architecture – a UNESCO listed heritage site. Overnight in fixed camp / resort at Uleytokpo.
Day – 12 (Uleytokpo : Lamayuru-Kargil (135 kms.))
After breakfast leave for Kargil, enroute visiting the dramatically located Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining “Moonland” hills. On the way to Kargil you can view the 9-Mtrs. tall rock sculpture of the Maitreya Buddha at Mulbek (7th –8th century AD). Overnight in hotel at Kargil.
Day – 13 (Kargil-Sonamarg-Srinagar (205kms))
Early departure for Srinagar driving through Drass (famous as the second coldest inhabited place in the world) and crossing the Zoji-la Pass (11,500-ft. / 3,505 m) to reach hill station of Sonamarg from where it’s smooth driving through the beautiful Kashmir countryside to reach Srinagar. Overnight in hotel at Srinagar.
Day – 14 (Srinagar – Jammu Departure)
Early morning drive to Jammu and drop in Jammu railway station end of services.
